Small Group & Individual Tutoring

We offer small group tutoring in Literacy: ELA, Mathematics, and combined classes. Students are grouped according to age and need. Our Average class size is seven. We also offer early intervention classes both in small groups and individually. At present we have no active group classes, but it will soon become available at our new location. 

Individual tutoring is presently in-person at our clients’ location and some public libraries. We serve only Manhattan, Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn. Sessions are administered on a case-by-case basis, and space is limited. We have availability for Jamaica and Astoria in Queens, and different locations in Brooklyn. These are opened to all academic grades and are not limited to the age group set for our small group tutoring. Sessions are tailored to suit your child’s unique needs.

A Wonderful World

This program is geared to children ages 2.5 to 4 years old. It ensures a sound academic foundation through the incorporation of play, exploration and social interaction. The children learn and develop through experience. The focus is on language development, fine and gross motor development, cognitive development, and social/emotional development. For the older children it will incorporate pre-reading skills.

Clubs & Other Services

We offer a variety of seasonal and non-seasonal extra learning experiences. This varies from ongoing reading clubs to specially developed programs to serve particular needs for set time periods. Schools and other groups can also request our services to design and implement holiday academic and non-academic enrichment clubs. Coming soon is the Reading Lab which is geared to teach all the fundamentals of reading: fluency, phonics, sight words, spelling and comprehension.

We are also enrolling for our summer fun clubs. Presently, open for enrollment is the Adventure 7 NYC Summer Club. It brings seven children together to travel through NYC, explore seven parks, play, plan and create. It allows the children to experience New York City in different ways from simple to more sophisticated experiences. Ride a horse drawn carriage at central park, go hiking at Van Cortlandt, or explore the playgrounds and water features at popular and not so popular New York city parks. These are just some of the types of activities which take place. The children socialize and form new friendships.  This runs for only two weeks in August each year, and takes place from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. This is opened to students ages 5 to 12. 

Afterschool Services- Coming Soon

We are preparing to launch sixteen to twenty afterschool slots at our new location. This is a perfect way of responding to our mandate, promoting learning and development in an integrated way while responding to a vital community need. The children will have the opportunity to learn and develop through exploration and play. This afterschool will run from 2:30pm to 6pm from Mondays to Fridays.It will serve children from ages five through to twelve.

Play – Coming Soon

Leo F Buscaglia stated, “It is paradoxical that many educators and parents still differentiate between a time for learning and a time for play without seeing the vital connection between them.” Play is vital to development and learning, and is not just limited to social and emotional development it is important to academic development as well. Play is an important part of our integrated approach and we will soon offer two opportunities for play at our physical location: 

Anna Rose Cottage is an inclusive indoor playroom geared to toddlers through to 8 year-olds. This allows limitless opportunities for learning, development and play. It allows for fine and gross motor development, creativity and exploration. It is named after the owner’s childhood home in dedication to her mother, and the wonders of childhood and play. More details will be released soon.

Anna Rose Play Café  continues the emphasis on play and the owner’s childhood home. It offers play experiences for all ages, or just a space to unwind from any of the hustles and bustles from the previous parts of the day, as well as  nourishment for its patrons. More details will also be shared at a later date.
